Article:  Cannabis for therapeutic purposes

Indications

Not registered:

  • Multiple sclerosis and spinal cord problems; for pain, muscle spasms and seizures.
  • Cancer and HIV infection/AIDS; pain, vomiting and nausea as side effects of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and antiretroviral medication; as a stimulator of appetite.
  • Chronic pain of neurological origin.
  • Guilles de Tourette syndrome: helps stop tics.

It must be taken into account that cannabis plays no role in healing these disorders: Only in some cases,  after the failure of other drug options,  can it help to provide symptom relief.

Although the drug is illegal in our society, it is advisable to consult a physician about the possibility of consuming cannabis.

Other potential indications have also been considered, but the clinical evidence supporting them is insufficient at present.
